MVP (Model View Presenter) in Android

What is MVP MVP (Model View Presenter) pattern is a derivative from the well known MVC (Model View Controller), which for a while now is gaining importance in the development of Android applications. Like most architectural patterns MVP is open to a lot of variety and experimentation and its implementation can be ambiguous. So you can modify your implementation according to your needs as long as your implementation meets the below objectives. Separate the code for the view, which we show to the user like a list, buttons, labels, textbox etc from the business logic which is triggered on user interaction with the view which we call presenter. The data that we show in the view should be provided by another separate module which we call as model. In turn code becomes readable, understandable and maintainable. The communication between the view and the model needs to take place through the presenter i.e. The view and model cannot have reference of one another. Using this design ...

Using Retrofit REST client

Retrofit What is Retrofit Retrofit is a REST Client for Android and Java by Square. It makes it relatively easy to retrieve and upload JSON (or other structured data) via a REST based webservice. In Retrofit you configure which converter is used for the data serialization. Typically for JSON you use GSon, but you can add custom converters to process XML or other protocols. Retrofit uses the OkHttp library for HTTP requests. Compare Retrofit with Volley Easy to Configure Retrofit is dead-simple to use. It essentially lets you treat API calls as simple Java method calls, so you only define which URLs to hit and the types of the request/response parameters as Java classes The entire network call + JSON/XML parsing is completely handled by it (with help from Gson for JSON parsing), along with support for arbitrary formats with pluggable serialization / (d)serialization. Documentation is great and the community is huge. I'll just paste some code here so you get a feel for w...
